Sales Development Representative (CA)
AppScale is a Platform as a Service built on technologies such as Nginx and HAProxy for routing and load balancing, RabbitMQ and Celery for task queues, Cassandra and Zookeeper for data operations and storage, and Apache SOLR bringing search in the mix. AppScale is an easy-to-manage serverless platform for building and running scalable web and mobile applications on any infrastructure.
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at AppScale, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business leads. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a desire to learn every day.

- Responsible for prospecting and qualifying new sales leads
- Contacting potential customers by telephone and email to secure sales appointments
- Convert calls/contacts to appointments
- Accurately record calls made and appointments set in our Hubspot CRM
- Cultivate prospects through regular follow up and contact
- Strong work ethic, high integrity and eagerness to learn
- Excellent phone/email etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to comfortably discuss technical topics with prospects and leads
- Driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Bachelor’s degree (ideally from a top tier university) or equivalent work experience
- Experience with inside sales and/or appointment setting a plus
- Knowledge of the cloud computing/PaaS landscape a plus
