BelCham in collaboration with VIW, UFBE and the Consulate General of Belgium in NY
invite you to the exeptional revival of "Brel is Alive Again" at the Triad Theater in NYC.
Mort Shuman, a reknowned American composer, saw Brel perform in Paris in mid 60s and fell in love with his music.
He met Brel and when he came back to the US, Shuman collaborated with friend and poet Eric Blau to translate many of the songs to English with Brel's permission.
They mounted a show called Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris in NYC's Greenwich village on Bleeker Street at The Village Gate and the show ran
for four years! The building to this day has a Brel landmark sign.
"This is a superb cast of Brel interpreters, each remarkable in their uniqueness, and the full house of enthusiasts,
loud applause and standing ovation tells the story – - that there is a large number of fans who continue to love
Jacques Brel and this wonderfully talented cast." Times Square Chronicles, Dec5 2011.

Show will start at 7:00 PM and will be followed by a drink at the Theater.

Dear members of BelCham,
With this email we would like to kindly invite you for the Big Belgium Party at Belgian bar Vol de Nuit on Saturday December 17.
This night is a spontaneous initiative of Belgian students and academics active in New York City, who wanted to bring together Belgians and non Belgians in a convivial atmosphere.
Now that our country is looking forward again, we thought this was a great moment to come together and have a great night of Belgian joviality and cheerfulness.
We’ve made sure the best of Belgium is present: chocolates, waffles and specialty beers.
It’s a great opportunity to bring a non Belgian friend and to introduce them to our country, its people and its culture.
The event is open to everyone, but we ask you to kindly RSVP on our Facebook event page, so that we can know
what amount of chocolates to foresee (they are shipped directly from Belgium by our sponsor Galler).
https://www.facebook.com/events/144052099035686/
We hope to see you all there!
Kind Regards
